weekly wrap-up : finallyyyy, a reunion!

This past week, I had the joy of visiting with Kelsey + Jordyn in BC!! Finally, the p.s. heart girls were united! :) We had a ridiculously amazing time (as you can see in the picture above...hehe)  + we took a million photos, did more thrifting than was probably healthy for my wallet, went to Bard on the Beach, hit up Fort Langley, ate so much good food I won't have to eat for a week, and in general we just partied it up.

Best. Week. Ever.

Keep your eyes peeled from more photoshoots that we did together, but for now, enjoy this little peek into our fun-packed week together!

And because we like to keep it classy....

outfit post : beach days

This outfit post was taken on the coast of S. Korea in the city of Busan, which is my mama's hometown! Caleb and I went out for a morning walk, did a little outfit post, enjoyed the lovely sand and sounds of the ocean, and picked up some treasures for us to take home. Now that I'm back in Alberta, I'm missing the beaches terribly and can't wait to be by the seaside again!
Tank top: H&M  /  Belt: local market  /  Skirt: thrifted  /  Hat: market in Korea  /  Sunglasses: Garage

weekly wrap-up: snapshots of Korea

As most of you know, I've been traveling and adventuring South Korea with my hubby for the past two weeks! While I'm not fully over jetlag (I only just got home late last night!), I couldn't wait to share some snapshots of our trip.
And I had to include this last photo of Caleb, because it's got a hilarious story behind it. The men he's surrounded by are actually guards for S. Korea's President. Caleb was seriously itching to get a photo with these guys, so we asked, not thinking they would say yes, but they were totally down and so excited to pose with Cay! They told us that while they're normally not allowed to interact with people if it doesn't concern security, because the President happened to be in the US, that they'd let this pass once. So here's my favourite photo of Cay, posing with the President's security guards :)

In just a couple of hours, Caleb and I are leaving on a jet plane....to fly to Korea!!! We are soooo excited and can't wait to come back with a million photos and stories to share :) The weather is going to be absolutely beautiful in Korea, but since airplanes are so cold, here's my warm & comfy travellers' outfit of the day!
Jacket: Bluenotes   /  Sweater: Old Navy  /  Scarf: Stitches  /  Leggings: American Apparel

Keep an eye out for some posts from Korea! :)

diy : vintage framed map art

I love to travel. It's something that I have been extremely blessed to have been able to do a lot of and a love that was passed down to me from my parents, who dragged my brother and I all over the world :) Thankfully, I'm married to a man who loves it just as much as I do! We dedicated our study to have a "travel" and "around the world" theme to it - to name a few, we have pieces from Haiti, Kenya, Ethiopia, Korea, France, and India decorating our walls and studying in this room just makes me restless to get up and go!
For this diy, I thrifted some empty frames and a lovely old Canadian School Atlas from the 1940s and began to cut out maps of places that are near and dear to our heart.
When cutting out your maps, simply be aware of the different sizes of your frames! This diy is so simple but adds such a great personal touch to your wall.

The maps that I used for our wall include a map of... North America, Africa, Korea, the world and good old Alberta!
I also have to point out my wonderful vintage suitcases! The top one is from Caleb's grandpa and the one on the bottom was gifted to me from his parents, who know my love for vintage pieces.
As I said, Caleb and I absolutely love to travel, so I thought I'd include a couple favourite places along with some bucket listers -

{ 5 places I've fallen in love with }  -  trekking through the Himalayas in India (this is where my romance with caleb started!), being awed by the architecture of Antoni Gaudi in Spain, the lush green mountains of S.Korea, working at an orphanage in Haiti, and going on an adventure of a safari in Kenya.

{ 5 place I'd love to go to } - the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the canals of beautiful Venice,  the Inca site of Machu Picchu, Topkapi - the oldest and largest palace in the world in Istanbul, and the old city of Jerusalem.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
