outfit post: pink and red

As you might have guessed from the title of this post...I decided to do a Valentine's Day inspired outfit.  Cheesy?  Yes.  Do I care?  Nope.

The thing is...no matter what you think about Valentine's Day, it always results in sales on chocolates.  And that counts for a huge win in my book.

Anyway, I chose to go with maroon tights, a pink lace shift dress, and a navy blazer to help give the outfit some structure.  I love a good shift dress, but sometimes your shape can get a bit lost in it.  Since it's also Winter here....that's another good reason to add layers!

Also, I've fallen in love with Revlon's Black Cherry lipstick.  It's a lovely dark, vampy red that I think is perfect for Winter!

I love lace. This may be highly apparent to you, since us ladies at p.s.heart have a rather overwhelmingly large number of posts that include lace...and really, we're totally guilty of a slightly out-of-control lace obsession and we'll be the first to admit it! So there, I admit that I am a little obsessed with lace, but without this obsession, this adorable DIY wouldn't be coming your way. So really, you're welcome. Now enjoy this ridiculously simple and awesome DIY.
Supplies Needed:  lace (of course!), a couple hair elastics, and a glue gun.
Instructions.
1. Measure out your lace by wrapping it around your head. (I used enough lace that it would just barely touch when I wrapped it around my head!)
2. Fold your lace over your elastics and glue gun it so that your lace is firmly folded over onto itself. Repeat this for both sides of your piece of lace.
3. Let your glue dry, make sure your lace isn't going to just rip right off, and then voila!

You're done.

Yep. It's really that simple.
Again, you're welcome.
Enjoy this lovely summery accessory!

outfit post: mustard and lace

If you've been following along with us for even a short amount of time, then you'll be aware of our borderline insane lace obsession.  We just can't help it!  Lace is just so pretty and feminine...I can't get enough of it.

{pssst!! there's a bow in the back of my shirt...so, you know, it's totally different from my other white lace shirts, right?}

And I totally have a crush on mustard.  A hardcore crush. It's just the bomb.  I know some girls have a hard time finding the perfect shade of yellow for their skin tone...and I've found that wearing it as a bottom (so it's away from your face) is an easy way to open up new colours to you!  Or, if you're like me, you just keep buying mustard coloured things because you like them...and don't actually look to see if they're flattering or not.  Haha. Oh well!

I'm so in love with these lovely, long, warm Summer evenings we're having....I don't want them to stop!

Jordyn and I trekked up to the back of one of our fields to take these photos, and I was amazed again at the gorgeous place we get to call home.  Man are we blessed!

I would probably wear a crown braid every day of my life if I had the patience for it.  I just love them!

outfit post: flowers and a frock

Sometimes I have a Hermione kind of hair day.

My hair is naturally wavy, so I usually just touch up the curls around my face and that's it!  But....when it rains, or is super humid, my poor hair tends to frizz and puff up a bit.  haha.  That's what's happening in these photos, oh well!

Now this is basically my Summer uniform when I'm not working on the farm.  A dress and a denim jacket!  So easy, but still cute.

I am so excited for this upcoming Summer.  My mom is an avid gardener, and has been working hard planting and tending to her flower beds in the past couple weeks!  We have the prettiest backyard, and I can't wait to share more photos of it in the coming months.  It feels good to be home.

outfit post: lace and chambray love

Have I mentioned how much I'm going to miss the beach once I move home for the summer?  Because I'm going to miss it...A LOT!!  I guess all I can do about it is enjoy it while I can, and this means going on as many beach walks/runs as I possibly can!

My favorite part about this shirt is hands down the back.  It looks like just another plain ol' chambray shirt, but then BAM there's lace!  I've had my eye on this shirt since October, but the price scared me too much to even try it on.  Sooo...I ended up stalking it for the next few months, and was lucky enough to snatch it up during a 75% off winter sale!  Woohoo!

I also picked up these red pants during that sale too, which I was pretty stoked about.  I was waiting to find the perfect pair, and fell in love with the lovely wine red tone of these ones!

I hope you are all enjoying the first couple weeks of Spring!  It's been (mostly) beautiful here in Van, and the crazy amount of cherry blossoms everywhere has been bringing me so much joy!
